IFMOTC was founded in October 1958.

The purpose of the IFMOTC shall be to unite in a common bond all
mothers or guardians of multiple births for furthering their education in child development and rearing which relate especially to multiple births, to exchange information with all others who have direct interest and experience.
IFMOTC was created...

  to promote interest in and supply information about multiple births.
   to aid in the organization of other Mothers and/or Parent of Twins and/or Multiples clubs.
   to aid multiple births or their families.
   to cooperate in multiple birth research.
   to cooperate with other national organizations having related interests.
